Guest guest
Colette, I'm like you except I have not had as many surgery's. I've agreed with my husband when it comes to surgeries if they can guarantee me of at least 50% relief or 50% more mobility then I have it. If you know that you would be at the least 50% better pain wise and mobility wise then have the surgery. Then you have to consider the cost. I don't have to worry about the cost my initial injury was at work thetas how I got RSD at least at this moment thetas what they are saying (34 doctors later). But if I had to worry about paying for all the surgeries I would have had a different out look about them. I have been a guinea pig for most of my surgeries and therapies some worked some didn't. Now they say I have CMT on top of the RSD which is another nerve disease. I had my sympathetic nerve disconnected (Sympathectomy) For the right side. That was the only side that I was having trouble with. About 1 1/2 years ago it traveled to my left leg. So lets do the other side I told them> Well while they were considering it the nerve reconnected itself, but not straight it's a little off center. So since they grow back and your in the same pickle you were in the beginning. It's not an option. So I've been have Epidural, for both sides without any pain relief let alone any mobility improvement. So now I'm scheduled for some kind of infusion to see if I can get any relief, if so then they do an infusion on my left leg only. Since the nerve went back together on the right side they can't do anything for it. I also use a wheelchair haven't gotten a scooter yet just use my people power. So my advise which isn't much help if they can guarantee at least 50% relief of mobility tell them to find a better way. None of us can afford to be any worse off then we already are we don't need anyone to speed up our deterioration it has it's own road to travel at its own speed we don't need any lead foot help.
