Guest guest
Hello, Claudine, You are right it is cryptogenic cirrhosis that I have. When I had my spleen remove in 1994, because of ITP(Immune Thrombocytopenia Purpura), I was diagnose with mild cirrhosis. I was never told to follow up. Now, I have been listed for a year. I was listed on Aug. 19, 1999. I am just taking Aldactone, Lasix, Neomycin, Lactulose(yukky sweet taste), Magnesium, Prilosec, Inderal, Claritin, a horse pill multivitamin, and Tums for calcium. I end up with headaches after the majority of these. Inderal is for my migraines. I am listed still at a status 3. They tell me that I am one point from a 2b. I have gotten so tired of the wait. I have to adjust the lactulose constantly. I had to take 6 doses of that stuff two days ago. I take 30cc at each dose. I try not to get grippy and grumpy, but sometimes I do. Mother is so good to put up with my mood swings. I seem to stay on edge all the time and feel like nerves have been fried. I can't stand to be touched, hear loud noises, or have more than one person talking to me at one time. I can't handle lots of questions or extended conversations. I just can't focus on what is being said. They might as well be speaking another language. My husband can be irritating and will speak his language when he finds out I can't comprehend what he is saying in english. He can be a real brat at times. He thinks it is funny, but I don't. I just want to smack the daylights out of him. One of these days, I am going to be after him so quick, like a chicken on a June bug; and he isn't going to know what hit him. I didn't intend to get this lengthy. I feel better today and felt like writing you while I did feel good. Thank you so much for being a dear friend. You are always there when I need you. God Bless and Take care. Virginia _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. Guest guest
Dear Virginia, That is unbelievable that no one bothered to follow up on the discovery that you had cirrhosis. Did they even make an attempt to find out WHY? I would say you have plenty of reason to feel like your nerves have been fried!! I don't know too much about the transplant list process, so I really don't know what you mean by a 'status 3', or one 'point' from being a 2b. Maybe if you feel up to it sometime you could explain, there are probably others who would like to know this too. Doesn't sound like your husband has made any progress in the " support " department! Luckily, you have your mother there. She sounds like a wonderful person. Take care, Claudine __________________________________________________

Guest guest
Winnie, I hope I make since, if not please try to understand why I don't. Well, hubby went to far this time. My parents are going back to Tennesse. My Father says I am a fool if I keep putting up with the foolishness and awful behavior of my husband. I suppose my husband is thrilled that they are leaving and will not be back. He never took into consideration that it is the children he is hurting. I am so scared right now. How do I take care of a medically fragile and multihandicapped daughter and my son? She has nursing but it isn't enough hours. I get so confused and forgetful. If I can't remember my own medicine half the time, how can I remember her medications. She is on three seizure medications and other medications. I have fought so hard to keep her home and out of a institution. My husband only cares for our son who is normal and doesn't have much to do with our daughter. He could care less for her or me. When he finds out my son is christian he will not have any thing to do with him either. I am so afraid of losing everything I have worked so hard for these years. I am so upset. I have cried, but I have to stop that in order to think straight and make plans for the children and me. I can't stay here for sure. I will have to go somewhere so I can get help with the kids. I have to stay here in Texas, because I am listed here and love my doctors. I have established a good relationship with them. They have helped me so much with getting more nursing for my daughter. I will have to go back to them and ask again for their help in getting more nursing for my daughter. I know I must sound foolish right now. I am tired of the mental abuse and cannot take it any longer. He has told me to leave for the last time. I feel awful right now. I just don't know what to really say or do. I have always wanted to lift someone up and not bring them down with my problems. The last time you wrote the same stuff had been going on and I had talked my parents into staying. This time that will not work. Just pray for me and the children. I am so deeply sorry that I told you a bunch of problems instead of good news and being more supportive to you. Lots of hugs, Virginia _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. Guest guest
Virginia, Oh my gosh!!! Do you have a woman's shelter near that you and the kids could go to? They could probably also help you continue with the nursing help for your daughter. I feel so much for you and your situation. It will take a truck load of strength to leave your hubby, but if you feel in your heart it is right, you must act. NO ONE deserves to be treated like ****, which is what it sounds like you are being treated. I am so glad that you posted your letter. You need lots of encouragement and support right now. It sounds like maybe your parents are trying a last, final ditch effort to let you know EXACTLY how they feel about your situation. They must love you and your children very much. Please, don't ever hesitate to write. We are ALL here for you. My prayers are with you every single day. STAY POSITIVE, Lora
Guest guest
Virginia, Oh my gosh!!! Do you have a woman's shelter near that you and the kids could go to? They could probably also help you continue with the nursing help for your daughter. I feel so much for you and your situation. Guest guest
Virginia, hogwash!! You are not here to always give us support. we are also here for you and all we can do is listen and reply and offer suggestions but vent all you want , it usually helps. I am so sorry you are havin =g a difficult time will be praying for you and the kids SUZY From: " Sparkle Q " <sparklehost@...> Reply-Hepatitis Cegroups Hepatitis Cegroups Subject: Re: Hey, Claudine Date: Thu, 12 Oct 2000 01:12:44 GMT Winnie, I hope I make since, if not please try to understand why I don't. Go to the authorities. They will not only help with the nursing problems........they will make him pay for them. And get him out of YOUR HOUSE>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Enough already. There are some things you just can't fix and he sounds like one of them. Drop the emotional side of your brain and move into the business side......then you'll provide for both of your children. Take care and keep me posted. Good luck, Anne
