Guest guest
The whole discusssion of the alcohol and smoking issues just made me want to share. I too " used to drink " . " Used to smoke " . Found I wasted too much time and money on those " pastimes " . Quitting the smokes I did with what I had learned in the 12 steps, Gretchen, count me in with you. My life AND my CMT seemed to get better when I quit that stuff, started eating right and developed a regular exercise program suited for me and my CMT needs. I love the way I feel now. I enjoy caring for myself and others in my life. I saved enough $ in the first year from no alcohol and smokes for a terrific 3 week vacation. It really opened my eyes. Paolo, thank you for what you said about alcohol effecting the cerebellum. Seems to explain the horrid hangovers, which I have no more. It is a delight to wake up, see the sun and hear the birds instead of cursing the world. I too have tremors, Todd, and quitting the alcohol really helped. I really enjoy when the pharmacist tells me " Don't Mix This with Alcohol! I have such a nice life today, good job, happy family, manageable CMT symptoms. -- Sara _____________________________________________________________ Search The Web and get Free E-Mail at http://www.spinfinder.com ! Guest guest
Hi Amy, I noticed the same things. The only time I was around the smokers was at lunch, and since I was talking to others so much, I ate late outside, and by that time everyone was back inside. Through my experience I have learned that the only person I can change is myself. Loosing weight, quitting smoking and drinking were once goals. For some years now I maintain my health by diet, nutrition, exercise, and spiritual practice. It is work, but this is a 'healthy job'. Stewardship of my body is very important to me. It was a pleasure meeting you and your husband at the Conference. I wish we had more time to chat at leisure. Gretchen
