June is immunization month

Story by

MERCER COUNTY -- The West Virginia Health Department recognizes June as

adolescent immunization month.

The goal is to remind parents to make sure their children have all required

vaccinations.

Those include vaccines such as tetanus, polio, measles and hepatitis.

Bolton says parents need to especially make sure their child has the hepatitis

series.

She says Mercer County is reportedly facing one of the highest rates of

hepatitis B in the state.

Information on immunizations is available at West Virginia Health Department
