Guest guest
Evevly, CEO's are jerks. I wonder if there is a CEO Jerk School!!! LOL I don't know why people in company's act like that. Even if a CEO has to keep their distant, they still know right from wrong so where is their moral compass???? I am in the health care field. I am a Medical Lab Tech and work for a large hospital system. I had a GI bleed back in April, 07. I knew that when I went to the GI doc that he would do a colonoscopy. I prepared my boss 22 days ahead to time, 22 days people! We had a nice long talk about it and I ask him if one day was better than another to schedule this procedure. He told me that all month was busy and he knew that I had to have this done. When I went to the Doc and picked a date, the next morning (I work third shift) I told by boss and he GOT MAD!! He told me that first he couldn't pay me for it even though I have a large number of PTO hours, #2 that we had a new computer system going up the week I needed two days off to have this done. That was a lie because everyone was sent an email about it plus another tech told me that was wrong. I knew it was and finally #3, my boss told me that their was another person on PTO and he just wanted me to know that I could not get paid for it. I told him " Fine " and did not say a never word. He stood there waiting for me to say I would just canceled but I did not say anything else and turned back to my work and left him stuttering to his self. I did end up changing the date the next day but I left plenty of documentation behind and plus I called the lady that takes care of FMLA and told her about it. I am now changing jobs and getting completely out to this Hell hole of a field. The money is not worth it. I have been doing Pet Sitting part time and I am going full time with that on July 21st. It is a lot of work but my body feels better when I do it and plus I will be back on day shift. YEA!! Yea!! My last night to work third shift will be on July 19th, it's not coming soon enough! I worked for this company for 5 years did anything and everything tried to never miss a day worked overtime and weekends. Well I did go back 4 days a week for 5 hours and come April when I got worse and they could see how bad I was they still did not hire anybody so one day I said I'm having trouble walking and I hurt real bad so I don't think I will be in on Tuesday. Then I went to the Dr. and he said no more work that I was getting worse. So I did call and tell them that I could not come back because the Dr said I need to quit and I told them why. My boss said but we need you we just hired someone for you to train I said tuff because I will not do any more damage to myself and that was that.So I heard from someone that they are in bad shape because nobody knows what to do and that made my day. I did send the owner and email to ell him way I had to leave all he said to me was have a good life and that was that. It's unreal to how good people get treated. Hug's,Ev. Guest guest
Mel, You've got that right!! Some of these people that are taking care of patients are just plain scarey. I have wondered sometimes if some of them got their license at Wally Mart! I'm not ditching nurses because I have two sisters who are very fine nurses and I work with some excellent nurses as well as lab techs, but some of them are just plain scarey!!!!! That goes for some of these butt holes doctors also. We had one girl in ICU that a doctor let her almost die. She came into the ER with a bulge on her left abdominal side and told the doc it was hurting really bad and ask if he would give her something for the pain. Even though she had no history and was not on the warning list and did not even take any meds at all even at home, this doc tagged her as a pain drug seeker and pushed her out the door. Two days later she was brought by EMS almost dead. She had a preforated bowel and was septic. She was taken into surgery faster than a blink of an eye and almost died. The surgeon sucked TWO LITERS of pus out of her abdominal cavity. Want to know how I knew that one. We recieved it in the lab for it to be cultured. Even the ER nurses came to ICU to see her!! It took her weeks to recover. She is suing them and I don't blame her a bit. I would have too and on top of it the hospital is footing the bill as they should. Let me get off this SOAP BOX because I could go on and on so I will spare you that one. I am sure you have seen for yourself. Guest guest
Mel, I don't know how the bad doc can out. Usually the hospitals just transfer the ER doc to a different location. I don't think I have ever seen a doc get fired. They just disappear for a while and then reappear after a certain time has past. Go figure! On another note: Why do the spell checkers have the button " Ignore All " when the spell checker does not ignore anything? What is the point of that button if it doesn't work! Guest guest
Debbie, Mel, Where did these doc's get their bedside manners? The School of Rudeness? Cheezeeee!!!!! All that education wasted!!!! I was also told how lucky I was that Choker Necklaces were back in style...somehow, that really didn't give me much comfort!! My doc was in Ft. Lauderdale. " Tan with necklaces on... " ..???? YEP, JERKS!!! I'm really surprised that they discharged you like that. Oh, you were talking about Orlando...there was a plane that just crashed into two houses up there a couple of days ago, really sad, many died...infants and children, parents from the two houses and the two in the plane. Guest guest
Debbie, LOL! LOL!LOL! That was a hoot!!! I have been cussed out by the best doc's in town because they weren't getting their test fast enough, but I stood my ground and after I hung up, I gave them the finger also. Not pretty but satisfying, huh!!! LOL! LOL! LOL! Puddin ---- Debbie Carlomagno <debbiecarlomagno@...> wrote: ============= Hello Puddin!! My doctor had no bedside manners! Yes, he did go to the school or rudeness too! Funny note that I just remembered, back in the hazy days after surgery I recall being in his office and he was keeping my incision line covered with some really tough tape because my incision was opening at the ends. Without warning he grabbed the tape and yanked it off, it felt like he ripped my head off and I was blinded by pain. When the initial shock wore off and he turned his back on me (I still couldn't talk yet...or scream!) I flipped him off!...Then he turned back around and caught me! I put my finger away and we kept up with the rest of the appt., he didn't say anything about that but I was certainly glad that he wouldn't be using any more scalples around me after that one! LOL! The things we forget! Guest guest
That is sooo sad about the plane crash! How awful! I don't think the surgeons are trying to be rude actually. They are trying to make you feel like you won't have a scar that will be noticed or last forever because they did the incision into the wrinkle. haha Anyway you say it, it does sound bad. The person that asked me if I tanned with necklaces on was not the dr...just some jerk. My husband was with me in the hospital and time was up with insurance so they wheeled me out of there....all jacked up on benedryl. haha Mel --- Debbie Carlomagno <debbiecarlomagno@...> wrote: > Hi Mel, > That's funny!!
