Guest guest
Hello everybody, My name is Malgorzata Korycinska and I represent the foundation “Pod Prad Zoltej Rzeki” (“Against the Yellow River Flow”). We are based in Poland (Eastern Europe, member of European Union). Our aim is to help and support people with hepatitis C and other liver diseases. We are volunteers. Everybody of us has or have had HCV. I've just ended my second interferon+ribavirin therapy . My HCVRNA(-). The Fundation has started work not long ago but we already have managed to do some things. Our web site (I am sorry- only in Polish), mailing list and Internet chat are the tools that have helped us to create a virtual community. Well, it is not only virtual community - we meet face-to-face from time to time. We are also support group. In Poland, due to financial restraint, medication is not possible for everybody who qualifies. People waiting for their turn often need more information about the disease itself, its influence on the body and mind. People are also interested if it is possible to claim damages from people/organizations responsible for the infection (in Poland over 50% of infections is linked to medical procedures). Thanks to our web site it is possible to contact specialist who can answer those and similar questions: doctors, psychologist, lawyer. We are now organizing our branches to be working in several Polish cities. Their aim is to access and inform patients that are during or before medication. Or first branch in Krakow has been working since February. Sorry for my English:). I'm very glad, that I'm with You. korycinska More info about Poland: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poland Our web site: http://www.hcv-fundacja.pl/ Lectures held during HCV Patients Conference – Cedzyna, March 18-19, 2006 · “Hepatitis C As an Individual And Social Medical Issue” · “Around HCV – Psychological Issues in HCV-infected patients” · “Hepatitis B – the Curse of Disease” · Testimony of a Patient Who Describes Her Own Successful Struggle Against HCV · “The Role of the Patient’s Family in Recovery Process” “Hepatitis C in Children – Course of Illness, Diagnosis, Treatment” __________________________________________________
