doing med research for over ten years on it...... if you have any

I'm 57 and still going strong... never did tx, never would.. but I am

genotype 1b and just now getting a bit sick.... but still run and have

it is NOT easy to contract except by blood...... but there are other

things to consider...as stated iin other emails.. call 1-800- GO LIVER...

get the pamphlet for HCV.... that is ALF American Liver

Foundation......... thought not easy at all.... in fact very hard to

contract... it is listed as STD.....

main thing, don't stress, don't worry...... it's just what is...... hugs,

I am ignorant to this disease so please bare with me. My mother had

(currently seperated) a boyfriend who she lived with for 10-15yrs.

He contracted hep (not too sure which one yet) through drug use. He

had told her from the get-go it is not contagous. After they split

up she had been having problems with " the change of life " . She

decided to go to a homeopathic and get some blood drawn to see if

maybe she was deficient in any vitamins. The results came back and

it was confirmed she is going throught " the change of life " and she

was all out of wack. Along with finding out what we already knew he

also told her, her platelet count was high, 1000. They thought the

test might of been wrong and did another, again another 1000

platelet count in her blood. She was referred to a specialists to

help her. They are telling her there is something wrong with her

liver and spleen. An MRI was done and we are awaiting the results.

The reason I give you this long story is to have a complete picture

prior to giving an opinion.

How easy is it to contract hep? Is it possible she caught hep

through him from what you are reading? Does it appear through the
