Guest guest
Dear ers, As many of you know I am engaged in an off label research program at UCLA's Neurological Research Institute. This NOT for CMT, but for my herniated disk. Anyway, I can't talk much about it while I am still in it, but I have had very good results, and go back in another week or two for Part II. The injections (NOT epidural, but simply subcutaneous) are very helpful for the pain this disk has created.(Herniated disks created toxins in the body that fight against the body's own pain system, and those toxins win! Hence the pain!) Funny thing, not only does my CMT balance seem better, but now I notice LACK of tremors! OH JOY! On top of this, one of the 3 person MD team, actually called me this morning to chat about my week's journal he received and ask questions. A Very caring man, plus a good neuro researcher, and he is REAL interested in what I am reporting. I have to admit I was a bit shocked HE called me! I mean how many Drs. ever call me - without me calling them for something first! oh joy! This research has been a godsend, as with the exception of surgery, which 2/3 of Drs.consults I have had say NO, I have had every other back treatment known to man/woman. Just some good news for the day. ~ Gretchen
