Guest guest
Hi All, Does anyone know if depression in those with CMT is just a psychological result of dealing with a delibitating condition - Or is it physiological, another syndrome to add to the list? My whole family (those of us with CMT) suffer from bouts of depression. Personally before several years ago, I didn't think much about my condition, it was there, always had been - but I have suffered from bouts of depression since I was very young, before I was even diagnosed at age eleven (although, I experienced symptoms of CMT since as long as I can remember also, everyone thought it was a birth defect)? Or am I just a bit 'nutty' and the two aren't related? I was just curious if anyone else has experienced the same thing. Not to bring you down - Heads Up! Thanks Peace & love Judy g. Guest guest
Judy I suffer from depression and am on medication for it and mine is due to my CMT, failure to get a diagnosis and fighting with the doctors. I was always told not to dwell on my problems but the thing to remember is that we're having to cope and live with a condition, an enforced lifestyle that many people just can not comprehend. I used to just want normality and it was a hell of a shock when I realised that I couldn't have it. You take care of yourself and look after yourself, live your life and if you need help never be afraid to ask for it. Big hug Love Sue X The important thing is never to stop questioning.
