Guest guest
ey everyone!!

Somedays I am so depressed, others, I actually think I can hang in there.....support groups like these are the reason I hang in there....

Hubby is 38 yr.s old, we've been married 11 yrs in Nov...but have been together 17 yrs.....he possibly contracted virus before we met, dunno, but had a bout with jaundice in '85, dx'd with non a non b.....about a yr and half ago he was working in south texas and got really really sick with what we thought was stomach virus, went to a doctor that his boss got him in to see(bless that boss) he was really sick!! couldn't hold anything in (both ends) doc ran some preliminary test, sent us to hemotologist, then we went to internist, then to gastroenterologist, then referred to hepatologist, biopsy showed mild-moderate cirrohsis w/lots of other stuff, don't know genotype though.....his platelets were pretty low 55 at time he started on interferon (have gotten as low as 27, they are about 47 now, his liver enzymes are hovering in normal range)...Feb 98...he had to quit drinking before the doc would try him on the interferon,...I dunno, he is responding so far, but have other friends on it who have developed autoimmune hep..not good. His Doc is Louis Balart, one of the top in this area....we travel 3 hours to see him once a month....run blood work here in our city and always get copies of every test or report (need it when you apply for ssd benefits)
...he is on temp disability...

I on the other hand test positive to Hep c , am waiting still, on my results from last riba test, one before this says I am indeterminate, they can only locate one band, which probably means that the viral load in my system isn't that high.....most of my symptoms are pain in upper right quadrant of abdomen and fatigue and
