Guest guest Posted March 2, 2006 Report Share Posted March 2, 2006 hi i'm john age 56 married i did drugs back in the 60s for about a year.i new i was killing myelf slowly,but then i didn't care.had bad home life.i was hanging with the wrong people,and wanted to act like them.how wrong i was. after a year of shooting dope i quit.fell in love with a beautiful girl that i married,35,years now.and through,i got away from the bad behavior i thought i had escaped the results of my actions. it wasn't until 1997 that i was dianosed with hep-c,and thrid stage cirrhosis. started interfron treatment same year,for 18 months.cleared virus after 6 months on med,but continued treatment for another 12 months. doc mentioned that the interfron would fell like you had the flu[a bad case] of it,and that if the med is working.and i tell you that the truth,that what it felt like. i worked every day while on med,all but the first two weeks.i took a two week vacation to see if i could handle it,and i did. i drove truck for a living so it wasn't as bad as it could have been. so far i'm virus free,but i still have cirrhosis,so i want to learn all i can to help myself of this illness.i started jogging early 80s,i think that's been a great help. well that's enough for now,i do hope to learn more from this group & others. thanks john Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
