Hey Bill:

Thanks for your post. I was beginning to fear that something

is wrong with me because I don't have a lot of depression, fatigue or

pain associated with my CMT. I count my blessings every day that

this is still true, but some times when there are so many posts on

these topics I fear that it's only a matter of time and I begin to

get more anxious.... So many on this list show so much courage

amidst many many challenges.... I guess that's really all we can do,

either decide to fight it and live the best life possible despite the

pain and problems or wallow in self-pity; I am impressed that I see

very little wallowing here.

To be honest, when I was a teenager I was VERY fatigued most

of the time, I also was QUITE depressed and I did have more cramps

and aches associated with my CMT.

I am 31 now and rarely have CMT related pain. I am also

quite energetic and upbeat. I attribute a lot of my energy to having

a job I love and an active spiritual life. I just feel so much more

comfortable with myself now and that makes a HUGE difference in how I

feel in many realms. I also think that keeping active and eating as

healthily as possible helps.

Bill, like you, I do not take medication and I am fairly

active. Although I am not as active as you, I bike, swim and even

ski or rollerblade once in a while.

My CMT is sort of a mixed bag and I think has progressed some

recently. While I can still go for a walk of a few miles w/ a friend

(at a fairly slow pace), my balance standing still is prety bad. I

am like the woman in Paolo's book in the heels with the knees bent

but my knees feel like bending a lot even when I'm not in

heelsActually, I can NEVER wear heels; I also can't stand on my toes

or on my heels. My toes are also curled and my feet and hands are

often icey cold.

Bill, what supplements do you take?

Peace,

:) Marti
