Guest guest
Paolo, I got word of this research and wondered if eventually it could help us with CMT. Do you think so? ~ Gretchen http://www.hhmi.org/news/bonini.html
Guest guest
I have read the web page about the research carried on by Bonini and colleagues at HHMI on fruit flies. The report mentions neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson's disease, not CMT. I cannot exclude that this mechanism might be discovered, in the future, to be responsible of a minor form of neuronal CMT, however the causes of CMT are different and, in most cases, well known. In addition, studies on Drosophila are very far from therapy on human beings. I may be wrong, since I am not a biologist, but I do not think that this study is of interest for us, but only for science. Ciao.
