Exercise Tape

Hi Group,

Has anyone tried the exercise tape by called " Sit

Tight " ? I would like to hear a little about it if anyone has tried

using it. I got the green light to start exercising (and taking off a

few pounds) from my rheumy, but my old " Sweatin to the Oldies " tapes

are much too vigerous for me to handle. " Sit Tight " is for people who

need to sit while working out. I also heard about a tape called " ROM

(range of motion) Dance " , but am unable to find it.

I borrowed 2 tapes from the library, but they are so out-dated that

I was a little depressed just watching them. If anyone has a good tape

to reccomend, I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Midge

Midge,

Are you where you can take AQUA EXERCISE? Water helps

your body be bouyant and you can do more and better

exercises that doesn't strain you as much as P.E.

If this Sit Tight is an ergonomecis (sp) exercise it

is also good for you. Any thing that doesn't bounce

or jostle you is good as long as it gives you a little

exercise. " NO PAIN NO GAIN " went out the window a

while back especially for those people that the pain

would get worse and not better.

I'm not familiar with the " Sit Tight " tape, but I have another suggestion.

If there is a " Curves for Women " facility near you, I'd strongly encourage

you to check it out. I've been doing the program since September, and am

very pleased with my results. Since I can't go for a walk or lift weights,

I've found this workout to be the best of both, mainly because I CAN do it.

I believe the reason is that the workout consists of 35 second stations. You

change stations every 35 seconds. Every other station you can jog (yeah

right) or march in place, which I can do with the assistance of my cane. On

all the other stations you SIT on hydraulic exercise machines, each one

designed to work different muscle groups. The total workout is 30 minutes,

plus another 5-10 minutes of stretching (my favorite part). Even though I've

seen no response in my " dead " muscles, the rest of me seems to be getting

stronger. Another plus is that my muscle cramps are pretty much a thing of

the past. My neurologist supports this program. Following is the website

address if you're interested. Good luck! -----
