I heard nothing from them until a month or two later, when I received a certified (!) letter from them saying they had tried to call me several times too see if I had any questions. As I have caller ID, I went through all the back listings, and unless they block their phone number (like telemarketers), I could find no evidence of any calls. Know from experience. It is a voluntary program but those that I have talked to that have been on the program find it helpful & I think they do research about the side effects for Schering. While I was on the combo treatment there was a nurse assigned to me that called once a month, except for a couple of months when they changed nursed one me. I found it really helpful in answering the questions that came up in between doctors appointment or once that I kept forgetting to ask my doctor. Not meant as negativity and/or disillusionment either. Also, I didn't see any need to call the Pharmaceutical Board since this related to an ancillary program, not the medicine itself.<br><br>My post was just intended to share their situation if anyone was interested. Called to ask how long was Ok for it to be out of a ref. and was given a run around for about a hour till I said I was taking it back and ordering new, then they said it could be shipped anyway it only needed to be kept cool after you used it. <br>As I see it the program is a way around the goverment so they don't look at their 4 billion profitt (yes thats with a B )and their contracts with the insurance co's to fix the price. I know blue cross does and was told so when I called and said I could find it for less ,was told they did not care and that was the co-pay because of their contrat with the manufactor.<br> I do hope you have much better luck with them but as for me they are a waste of time.<br>rich<br>Ps still have a load count of 500000 but will finish anyway. Guest guest Posted October 21, 2001 Report Share Posted October 21, 2001 Hello.seesalot...and reg congrads!!!!!i havent posted in here for a very long time..Im sorry...i do however plugin when my life isnt either in shambles or i am ill...my name is Felisha...im 41 and live in vancouver, wash...anyways i did 8 months of the ribivirin/interferon combo finished up in august...well im waiting for the new tx to make it to my pharmacy..lucky for me im 1st on the list...my question is have you had tx before and how sick are you getting from the tx your on now???hows the sides???im ready to jump right back in the saddle again...but im hoping the sides will be easier this go around....to you all in this great support group ..ill do my best to be an active participant....be well as you can all and god bless...in light & hope & peace ...Felisha...everyone calls me moon feel free.... Guest guest Posted October 21, 2001 Report Share Posted October 21, 2001 hey felisha aka moon (smile) - no i never had tx before the new combo therapy - my side-effects are mild EXCEPT for joint pain - i found that this new medication seems to find your old hurts and make them worse - in my case, arthritis.
