I have a 1 scaring and mild 2 for inflamation. I have been reading

alot and some of the articles say that I should be on monitored.

What stages are needed to start treatment? Should I wait? I will be

participating in a blind study. One group will be getting viramidine

600 mg. and pegylated interferon, the other group will be getting

ribavirin and pegylated interferon. I will not know which group I

will be in or the results of the testing. Has any one heard of

viramiding? It has not been approved by the FDA yet. I guess I am

toying with the idea of waiting because I don't have any side

effects yet. But I may not get the opportunity to be in another

study. No one has any advice??? Of coarse the hospital thinks I

should do it but is it worth it at this stage of the game??? Any

advice is welcome. Kate

The best answer I can give you is this: you will never be stronger that you are

today. The longer you wait, the chances increase that you will have lost the

strength to go through what is a very taxing treatment, both physically and

psychologically. I stopped after 4 weeks. And I'm a 46 y.0 otherwise healthy

man, but just couldn't handle it...see my post (who am I, anyway). Good luck

with your decision. I'm not suggesting you rush into this. Certainly you

should weigh the pros and cons and educate yourself. But I found the advice

that you never going to stronger than you are today pretty motivating... Hope

that helps.
