Make him give you copies of all labs he does.

That way you can keep track yourself.

You will

find some very helpful info on labs on my website:

http://www.geocities.com/1Leighann

If your platelets are

below 50,000 (It should show

up as 50 on the lab sheet) they will stop treatment

until they come back up. That could take about 2 weeks.

If your WBC (white blood cells) are too low meaning

below the normal range, you will need to stop as well.

They don't like the WBC to get below 3.0 and that is

still a tad low. If they are getting down there, they

can lower your Ribavirin dosage until they are able

to stablize.

At 8 weeks into treatment, all

your labs will be looking pretty lousy. Your body is

adjusting to the chemo-like drugs you are on. Don't let him

pull you off treatment completely. The Ribavirin is

what is causing most of the trouble, and your body

will become accustom to it, hopefully.

Get

copies of those labs then check out the webpage. It will

tell you what the normal range is and where you should

be. You can also check out my labs while I was on

treatment.

LeighAnn

my wbc is 1.1 the nurse said. Could it be from

the stress of the holidays? what can I do to help

them get back up? I don't want to stop treatment. I'm

more afraid of doing nothing than these

treatments.
