This really does honk me off, too. The only thing I have seen on TV is Dr.

Judith Reichman on the Today show for 5 minutes one morning, talking about how

Hep C is a national epidemic, but nobody seemed too concerned. Maybe if a lot

of us e-mailed the networks to ask them to do a story on one of the news

magazines, someone may pay attention. That's how the AIDS activists started.

Ok, Carol - I e-mailed NBC, CBS, ABC and CNN - oops, forgot Fox. I asked them

why they have given so much attention to AIDS and so little to Hepatitis C, when

there are so many more of us who need help and are being overlooked. I

explained how there are an inordinate number of veterans, health care

professionals, firemen and just ordinary people who have Hepatitis C, and we

have been suffering with it for years, yet no one seems to give a rat's rear

end. I said that it was my understanding that Hep C is the biggest reason for

liver transplant in this country, and probably the biggest cause of liver cancer

as well.

I asked them why my life should matter less because I am a mousy housewife in

the Midwest who happened to get a lousy luck of the draw from a blood

transfusion, than if I was some loudmouth AIDS activist who thinks not enough

money is going to third world countries.

I said it was their duty as the powerhouses of the American media to bring this

story into the headlines and get us the help and support that we need. Let's see

if I hear back from any of them.

I think the more of us who let the networks know how devastating this is, the

more likely they will start paying attention to us. Who else is going to start

sending e-mails?

to a cabin in Michigan. What I will do while I'm there is to compose a general

Okay,

Bless me for being confused! But that seems to be my

state of mind these days. Are we looking for people

that have plenty to say about the system, what they

have been through and demanding more research for

cures and " less side effects " . Know they say peg is

higher according to genotype, but are they adding the

people who relapse, the people who have to wait for

something else because they cannot take. The Doctors

most of the time not having a clue what they are

talking about and the hell the patients are going thru

beings stressed because they have to be experts and do

the research themselves??? I am in if that is what we

are loooking for. I have been battling this for quite
