Guest guest
My boyfriend soon to be husband was by himself through most of his treatments..and he did fine...I tried to get over on shot night when I could...He never missed a day of work..I do know that he drank lots and lots of water..Towards the end of his treatment...he was very fatigued...but other than that he was and is a real trooper.. He never got nasty or grouchy...thats what I was afraid of.. He ended his treatments in Feb ..he went for a whole year and we are to be married in Aug...so far so good..as far as the Hep coming back...our fingers are crossed..and toes.. I hope this helps you...I would suggest some back up plan if you run into some problems...someone that you can call to stay with you when you need it... Good Luck and God Bless

Guest guest
I live alone now and will be starting treatments soon and have been wondering about how I'll handle it alone too. Good question.

Guest guest
I lived alone through my combo tx, and in reality felt it was best. I did however have the support of my very best friend who would come and sit with me and let me cry and yell or whatever I needed to do to get through it. I missed probably 2 weeks all total of work throughout the 6 months I went through it. It was tough but I did get through it and am presently virus free, so it was worth all of it. Guest guest
Dave while I was not single and living alone, I ran a support group with people who were in that situation and on combo. They came to the group every week to talk to others, and found alot of support right here online. If this is the case for you, feel free to email me whenever you need someone to talk to, yell at, cry on...whatever. I've been through combo and know how hard it can be...even for people WITH live in support! LeighAnn > Has anyone in this group that lives alone gone through combo > treatment? From what I've read it sounds as though it may be a little > rough without some " live-in " backup support.

Guest guest
Thank you LeighAnn & Debi & & . I think I can do this. I'm still waiting to find out when I will get my Schering ID number. My daughter lives with me full time but she will be gone for the summer. I don't think I will be getting too much symphathy from my boss at work. He did say he will hire more help so that I can start working part time when treatment begins. It's good to hear that it is possible to go through this treatment without having to get someone to help me out 24 hrs a day. My doctor said I will go for 3 months and have lab work done to see if it's working and if so go 3 more months and if that goes well then I will go the full year. A year sounds like a long time. As long as my brain chemistry doesn't get to out of whack I might be able to do it. Maybe I should ask the doc to have Paxil ready just in case. A mind is a terrible thing to lose! lol Dave
