Hi Mic,

{ I was just told today I have Hep C. I'm scared.I need a support group to

be able to talk to other people. My name is Mic, female, age 48. Where do I

begin? My doc is at a V.A. clinic and they want to take more blood tests

April 22. They acted like it was no big deal and didn't tell me much. }

I only found out this past week, as well. I am 47 years old and have had it

for over 30 years, but now I am in stage 3, genotype 3 of the disease. I

should be starting treatment in May, hopefully.

Have you learned anything in detail yet? Your stage or genotype? Viral

count maybe?

I'm afraid too, but the best thing we can do is to try and remain positive

*hugs*...

Mic...I just found out at Christmas and just a few weeks ago had my liver

biopsy done and have an appt April 11th to discuss treatment. You will need

to see a gastroenterogist for the hep c. My doctor acts like it's no big

deal also. I am 53 and got the hep from blood transfusions in the late 70's.

I'm one stage before cirrhosis. You'll need to check out the internet and

get all the information you can....and we'll be here for you...hugs....judy

Thanx a.

I don't know any details yet. I have to have more bloodwork done April 22. I

should know more in May.

Are there any foods we should eat and/or avoid?

I'm staying positive now. I was in shock earlier. Mic

I think we all do the shock thing... I'm not sure I'm out of that stage yet

*grins*... as for foods and drink, I did talk to my doctor about and he's

a health-food nut of sorts I think... :) basically, try to avoid excess

fatty foods, all alcohol is a no-no, and eliminate caffeine and

cigarettes... oh, and drink lots of water too! :) Keep us all posted on

how you are doing and don't be afraid to ask questions... :)
