Hi Caren,

Yes, I did get your numbers, and will relay those to our OB/GYN Consultant tonight. She's so busy, it may be a couple of days before she has time to give her evaluation. I do know she will ask for a TSH level (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone), which should have been done with the other tests.

Blessings,

Martha Murdock

Hi Caren,

A (T-7)is Free Thyroxine Index

This is the product of T-3 uptake and T-4 uptake and protein-bound iodine.

It permits correction of misleading results of T-3 & T-4 determinations caused by pregnancy, estrogens (especially birth control pills), and other conditions that alter the thyroxine-binding prontein concentration.

I hope this is helpful!

Hugs,

Martha M.

My TSH in November of 2000 was at .92. I had it taken again in July of this yearand it was at .64. I just haven't had a T7 done.

Thanks

Yes Caren,

I have one of the 'top' endocrinologists in the Southwest, however, I have to have our OB/GYN authority to review all results, as she know the hormone problems I've had most of my life. She gives me insight regarding some things my endocrinologist is overlooking, even though he is very BI knowledgable!

Blessings,

Martha M.

I used to live in Bedford Tx in between Dallas and Fort Worth all of my dads family live in Dallas and the Fort Worth area. It is so pretty there except for the humity. It sounds like you have a good doctor for diagnosing your thyroid.

Hi Caren,

I will pass this information along to Arden also. Since it may be a few days before I hear from her regarding your case, do you know an excellent OB/GYN in your area?

No I saw the endronologist one time for 10 minutes and she went over my symptoms and my blood work and said nothing wrong with your blood work you just have chronic fatique. And she said she could not help me and I didn't need to come back and see her.

Caren,

The shot is a hormone shot to try to get you back on track with your periods, which should get some other endocrine problems back in order. However, I'm not certain about what I'm telling you until I get a response from Arden. Did your endocrinologist do a brain scan of you pituitary gland to make certain it appeared to by OK?

As the pituitary gland conrols all the other hormone functions, and the possibililty of a problem there needs to be ruled out ASAP!

Many Hugs,

What is this shot your talking about. My OB-Gyn just said see you in a year after trying to figure out what was wrong with me. I saw him for 3 months in a row and at my last appoinment even though I was still having very irregular periods he said "I'll see you in a year". The endronolist said you have nothing wrong with your Thyroid and said she could not help me. So my luck with doctors isn't to great. I feel like no one wants to help me to see if I do have a Thyroid problem. With so many doctors telling me no I feel like well maybe my TSH at .64 is just my number. Back in the back of my head I think this is part of my problem and my TSH is to low.

Thanks for your support and help. I really appreciate it.

Hi I am going to my Ob-gyn on Weds. I should ask him to do a brain scan for the pituitary gland. Is there any other test that you know of. I called a doctor today and he said my TSH at .64 is normal and that should not be my problem. I am so irritated. I just want to scream. I am going into my Ob-gyn and put my foot down.

Thanks

Hi Again Caren,

I think I neglected to mention to have your OB/GYN do a very thorough examination for endometriosis. However, if you had this, you would probably be having lots of cramping-type pain, and occasional 'gushes' of blood. However, it could be in beginning stages, and not progressed to this disgusting level -- as it did with me, when I was very young & trying to have another child. We did have a 2nd child through adoption & I felt no difference in my one 'miracle' natural born child and my adopted infant son.

Many Hugs,

Hi Caren,

I DO more than understand your frustration! Please tell your OB/GYN that the Endocrinologist you saw didn't seem to want to work with you & your obvious hormone problems. INSIST they do an Estradiol Level (this test includes the TSH level). Also, ask about the hormone shot to get your periods started & perhaps back to normal (if it works). I cannot quickly recall the name of the hormone shot that should 'kick you back to normal periods, within 4-6 weeks from the time of the shot, however, your doctor should know.

If you've been 'exposed', you should also have a pregnancy test run, just to be certain, because it's not too unusual to be doing this sproratic spotting during pregnancy -- especially the first tri-mester. Have you run one of the HPT's? If so, have done more than one or two?

Hope to hear from Arden soon to help me, help you!

Blessings,

Martha Murdock
