I was wondering what kind of Dr. is the best to use for Hep C. Infection specialists? GI Dr's? What kind do you (or anyone on the list) suggest? BTW, I did a quick search of Google and they did not have anything for " Hepatoligist " . Thanks in advance for any help. Conscious
Guest guest
Hi, Vicky, hepatologists are not as common as Gastroenterologists (GE). The GE can take care of more than just the liver. They treat digestive diseases and the liver is part of it. I think that the liver specialist (hepatologist) is neccessary if you need a transplant, have late stage liver disease, etc. Hope this helps. hugs, Suzy > > HELLO!!! Guest guest
Vicky, I don't know where you live, but more and more Doctors are specializing in both Hepatology and Gastroenterology, which is the best way to go if possible!
