Guest guest
Welcome Lori (and your father). Thank you for the introduction. As for me and meds, most I have taken have the opposite effect on me. The best med (and smallest doseage) for my nerve pain and tremor suppression is Elavil. During pre-op days I took Robaxin for my back. It worked well as a muscle relaxant, but didn't make me 'goofy' (lol) I take Vitamin E and Blackstrap Iron and that's it. What has really helped me physically is aquatics 3 X a week. Besides being active with walking (in sand when I can), biking and gardening. Deep, quality sleep also helps me. For my feet - hot baths, massage, orthotics in my shoes. That's about it. Again, welcome to . Good luck on reading ALL the past posts! ~ Gretchen

Guest guest
Gretchen, I am interested in why you take the Vitamin E and Blackstrap Iron. Do you take a multi vitamin with them also? The aquatics you do sound fun but I would have to drive to far to use a pool of any kind except summer of course. I do garden with help and yoga. I also walk as much as I can. Right now I have a sore on my foot that is healing. So it's back to the foot doc for something to take the pressure off of the area. My Dad just got a pair of diabetic shoe inserts and he say's that his pressure sores have healed up and that his feet feel great using them. Of course you have to replace the every three months but he say's that he has to do that with his shoes anyway. Thank you the interduction. I have taken Elevil in the past and it work well for me but the doc I have now would not proscrib it and instead I got neurontin and it works for me. I will pass the idea on to my Dad thoe because the neurontin worked but was to strong for him. He is like you and has an opposit reaction to most meds he takes. This may help him with the neuro pain.
