Guest guest
Welcome Sue and thanks for your introduction. It is always nice to have a new member. I think that for us all, whether newly diagnosed or not, there are those times having CMT is difficult to deal with just by its very idiopatihc nature. That is why this list was created, so we can share whats going on with us, hear solutions and positive ways of living. The name 'nanthahala neuropathy' is a new one for me. Did your Dr. explain what that means? I was diagnosed as a kid, am now 49, and only in the last 3 years got interested in learning about how others live with their CMT. So I spent a lot of time catching up on CMT 'types' and 'names' too. Again welcome to the group. ~ Gretchen
Guest guest
yes the name is very new because my family has CMT gene and TRIGEMINAL NEURALGIA gene first case with both. It is usually one or the other not both in same persons. Thanks for the welcome. Since I found out about CMT I have been wanting to talk to others and find out how they cope with it. This is an answer to my prayers. Guest guest
Sue, Welcome to our group. I am Cathleen from Arkansas. I take 2700 mg of Neurontin a day from my pain. I now have hand tremors that come and go. I have a good sense of humor that sees me through the tough times, like if I fall down I laugh and say I'm inspecting the carpet then I laugh and those seeing me fall laugh too. This grup is a great way to learn about CMT. Gretchen is really a Godsend to me, she is so smart. Again welcome.
