Guest guest
Ouch! that hurt. The MDA neurologist and the technician had a difficult time getting a reading on my lower leg and the lower thumb of the hand, and the electrical impulse was on high (but it really hurt - caused some bruising/bleeding but it's okay now). I am told I have extensive nerve damage, and that my lower leg muscles are now mostly fibrous tissue - that was kind of a shock, but I'm glad that I know it now. He stressed preservation of what I have left, using crutches as little as possible because of pressure palsy, and using a scooter for excursions. Once again, the neuro was really nice and he seems to bestow me a lot of respect. I asked his opinion of the exercises I do, and he frankly said he didn't know - just do what you can and don't overdo. If biking causes hip muscle pain, then do something else. Those famous words...KNOW YOUR LIMITATIONS. Glad that's over. Melody
