Guest guest
Hello Fabian, I think most body's immune system should be capable of fending off the virus. I believe it's the every day abuse we put our body thru that weaken our immune systems to the point of not being able to fight off the virus. Whether you drink alcohol, take drugs or what. Just general abuse on the body can break the system down enough to let the virus take over. I've read of those dx and opting for a healtier life style, as appose to tx, that have kept the dragon at bay. Goos luck. rc > Hi group. > Hope all is well with everyone. Guest guest
Dear Fabian, I have many links which you can browse for info; I have read and seen various theories and research being done to find out what lets one of us defeat the virus while another does not. If you'll email me, I'll send them to you. And CONGRATULATIONS to you. I have only one other friend who was able to clear HCV on her own; she was a cocaine/alcohol/etc addict at the time, so I think that our life style/unhealthy behavior has very little to do with clearance. Guest guest
Fabian, I haven't heard of any HCV studies that are looking into natural immunities. Several years ago I heard of a study being conducted on 1 person with a possible HIV/AIDS immunity. It seems all his close friends had HIV/AIDS and were dying while he did not show any signs of illness. I'd have to do some searching to find the latest on that patient/study. Guest guest
Fabian, In regard to your question, yes, there probably is an interest in cases like yours. I assume that you were detected positive and HCV was verified, rather than possibly just a false positive test with no verification. Her is an example outlining a one such research project. Go to this U of California (San Francisco) web page and then scroll down to: 'Liver Immunology'. http://gidiv.ucsf.edu/GI/research.html > Hi group. > Hope all is well with everyone.
