Guest guest
A new study of the active ingredient in Maximum Milk Thistle is recruiting patients in Seattle, Washington. The information can be found at this link: http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct/show/NCT00055445?order=1 This study is being conducted to determine the safety and effectiveness of IdB 1016 in higher doses than previously tested. It is being directed specifically toward hepatitis C patients. Please note, the substance name for this study is IdB 1016. This was the original research name given to this substance by the patent holder, Indena. It is also known as silipide, siliphos, and silibin phytosome. All of these refer to the same patented molecular combination of silibin with phosphatidylcholine, which is also the active ingredient in Maximum Milk Thistle. The researchers are recruiting patients who either are non-responders to current medical treatment for hepatitis C or who are not good candidates for the current treatment. This means they are looking at this as an alternative to Interferon. I do not expect them to find the active ingredient in Maximum Milk Thistle to be an alternative to current therapy (it does not directly address the disease, it protects and supports the liver and assists in cellular regeneration). I am encouraged, though, that they are checking the effect on fibrosis and other liver function markers. They will certainly find a beneficial effect (as has virtually every previous clinical study of this sort). It will be interesting to see how much better an effect the higher dosing might have. You may want to click on the previous study links at the bottom of the study detail page. Many of these are the studies referenced at LiverSupport.com to demonstrate the effectiveness of Maximum Milk Thistle. It is because of the positive results of these studies that the researchers were able to get a government grant to underwrite the cost of this research. The point is, if there was not clear proof that this was a dramatically superior form of milk thistle, neither the university nor the government would be directing resources toward this research. I feel very strongly that you, me and every hepatitis c patient should take milk thistle every day. And I feel even more strongly that the most effective milk thistle to take, by far, is Maximum Milk Thistle. This is just another demonstration that I am not the only one who believes this. Don't hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns. Be well, Ralph Napolitano © Natural Wellness P.O. Box 1783 Pine Bush, NY 12566 liversupport@... --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
