Guest guest
Bill, I sold cars and the doctors says I can no longer work at all. Says I cannot sit, stand, walk, or drive, only minimum amount of time for each because my spine is effected in two places along with the rest of my body. Things go to sleep whenever they want, for however long they want. From minutes to months so far. My left foot is totally numb, yet very painful. Last night was the first time I experienced something, from my knees down, it felt like my legs were it a bucket of ice. It was so painful. Yes, I did the heavy stuff to get through that one. I knocked myself out. I did not know they had to offer you a different position, does it have to be of equal income? I made really good money and had a loyal following. I would have liked to do finance and had helped out many times, on the really busy days. I know that if they could get my medicine right maybe I could return to work. All in all, you have touched on a subject that could possibly help many faced with this challenge. I have not had any income since January 2001, I had AFLAC for a year and it was worth every nickel I had paid into it. I still have it on accident cancer and disability. We are in the process of getting that in the Illness level instead of an accident claim from breaking my leg. Hopefully it will all work out. Only it depends on a doctor that told me " don't research it, it is nothing to worry about " I wish he had my pain for a day. No, I don't, That was mean. I am going to give him a copy of the one sent from s Hopkins, so he can see what they said and how wrong he was. Hopefully that will get him to put the right thing down and I will get my claim for one year. It has been applied for twice already. Pray for me. I will definitely pray for Layne and his family. This is so hard and unfair. We spend our lives working and paying for it, physically and mentally and then when we can't do it anymore, this is what you get. I don't know what it takes sometime to make people realize, that basically people don't put themselves through this to take advantage of the system. They are in real need of the help they paid for not just with money, but with life. We have to fight for what we deserve, that is a recognition NATIONWIDE and proper educated health care I have been fortunate enough, that my fiance sold his house to assure that my credit not be ruined. I also had insurance on a twenty-thousand dollar loan. They have just covered that. I had insurance on my life insurance and hopefully that will be covered and be retroactive from date of disability. I will know soon. I am still waiting for SSD, second attempt. It just seems we may need a lawyer to fight our cases in every area. Maybe that is something the support groups in the individual areas need to work on. GOD BLESS
Guest guest
I need your help. Layne has just received notification from his company's insurance company that they have rejected his appeal for disability benefits. We have send reports from his family doctor, an emg which was administered by a specialist and a respected neurologist who all say he is disabled to do his job. We are very upset as this has been 1 year today that he has not received any sort of pay cheque. Please, any suggestions would help. Keep in mind we are in Canada. This insurance company (starts with an M and ends in Life) has led us on a wild goose chase only to pull the rug out from under us. We have called a lawyer and are awaiting a call back. Layne left a message with the woman at the insurance company saying, " see you in court " . She didn't even have the guts to call and speak to him. Instead, she called the company nurse and told her to tell Layne that if he and his lawyer have anything new to add she'd listen. Well what kind of medical information could a lawyer bring to them? Do you think she's hinting at a buy out? Anyway, we'd like to hear your advice or past history of this. Thanks for your help.
