FMS study

Tomorrow (well now it's today) I am going to a

supposedly good rheumy here in Seattle who has worked

with women who have had implants and been sickened by

them. However, I'm not going for a regular appt until

mid Sept, but I am going to see if I qualify for a

fibroyalgia study he is conducting.

It is a double blind study, and apparently the drug

being used is already FDA approved. Approved for what,

I don't know. But my fibro is so bad sometimes that I

thought I'd see if I even qualify. It's a 4 hr appt to

see if I qualify. I'll be curious to see what I learn

later today. For all I know he could be using

guaifenisen, which would be harmless. But I did read

somewhere that there are still studies going on with a

new med geared towards FMS, so I wonder if that could be

it.

I will let you all know tomorrow how it went and if I'm

selected. Also, haven't heard from Dr. Huang yet. I

hope soon, as I'm beginning to worry that maybe there

was some leftover silicone in their since she had to

scrape the implants out and off the breast tissue. God

I hope not, as I can't afford to miss work right now for

another surgery. The whole situation is really strange,

esp since it's only been going on x1-1.5 months.

Seattle is just incredible!! I have been to Pike Place

Market and gotten cheap, beautiful flowers, fresh,

organically grown fruits and veggies, and just wandered

around, eventually ending up in the original Starbucks.

I'm trying to plan a wknd where me and my neighbors can

go to the San Islands and do some whale and seal

watching. And of course, I've got to get up to the

Space Needle since it's only about 8 blocks from my

apt. My apt is in Belltown, and is 2 blocks up from the

water and the bay. So, I get to see the cruise ships

coming in, the ferry boats going to Vashon, Bremerton,

and Bainbridge; we see fish being caught, and so much

more. I just feel like I'm in sensory overload. I'm

even riding public transportation to work, so I guess I

can say I'm a real city girl now!! I have not got to

shop yet due to lack of money, but eventually. I do

want to go to Vancouver, and to Whistler to ski. I

still need to go to Pioneer Square and the international

district. All in time, all in time. As soon as my

checking acct balace is no longer negative, then I can

start planning some outings.

But I do really like it here. The weather has been

wonderful. Hot in the mid 80's to low 90's, and boy

when that sun shines, there is not a cloud in the sky!!

It's just been beautiful so far. Cool at night, but I

like that because it's good sleeping weather.

I will keep you updated as to my adventures in Seattle.

You can live vicariously through me!!
