Guest guest
Hi Jane, Now I know. My orthotics are ONLY in my shoe too. Yes, mine are made of some sort polyuretherene, and they are flexible, but give a lot of support. Like Bill said, your feet ARE walking on something different and I DID feel some of that for a few weeks, but nothing uncomfortable, matter of fact I was quite happy. I was doing some fitness walking at the time and my hip started to hurt, and the orthotist made an adjustment. Each orthotic is different, since each foot is different. Maybe your orthotist now just needs to 'fine tune' them. I DO wear mine all the time, they are second nature...they fit in about 4 pairs of shoes but mostly I wear the orthotics and my NB shoes, since it is such a wonderful combo. When I don't wear them and walk any distance, I observe I cannot walk as far without fatigue or back strain. In the summer I suppose I could wear sandals, but I am either barefoot at the beach or in the water or wearing NB shoes. Didn't your orthotist tell you about them or suggest when you return for first evaluation? This is what mine did. ~ Gretchen
