Guest guest
Hey Pam at least you'll get some sleep! The drop in the rbc count is an anemia that is caused usually by the ribavirin. What they will probably do is cut back the dose on the pills. I had the same problem, they dropped my dosage till the count stabilized, and I still cleared with the lower dosage, so don't get discouraged just yet. I don't think it affects the efficacy of the TX that much. There is a possibility that they wont be able to stabilize the count though, and that would mean discontinuing the TX. It's a good sign that your doc is on top of the situation though. Keep us up to date. Guest guest
Hi Pam, To me, fatigue is the worst side effect. It's even worse than the fever and aches, for which I can take medication. I'm on my 25th week and still get very tired, but after three months, I found that the fatigue wasn't as bad. One thing I have to force myself to do is get some exercise, even when I don't feel like it, or my muscles get week and I get short of breath. Also, my metabolism, glucose, and cholesterol got out of whack when I didn't get enough exercise. Just hang in there and take it easy, but do get some exercise. Guest guest
Hi Pam........ sounds to me like you are beginning to experience *riba rage* Sadly it is a part of the treatment that not many manage to escape! A good antidepressant and some good sleepers will help but nothing will make it *go away* I can remember standing in my clothes closet weeping because I couldn't figure out a blouse to wear to the docs office and when my mom offered to help me I just started shreiking at her. I was homicidal some days and suicidal others. Wish I had some quick cures to give you but there just aren't any. I think some of us are just more prone to riba rage than others but haven't a clue why. I have never been a particularly moody individual and never had a depressed day in my life until treatment. Just keep hanging in and hanging on and keep your eye on the *prize* (((Pam))) Wish there was something more I could do for you! Today in a store's parking lot, I found myself screaming at my husband......This is just NOT me anymore....I'm three weeks into this and falling apart. . My pain is gone in my legs but is this what I have to put up with for nine months...just to keep from hurting.......Pam --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
