Guest guest
Hello, Update... Had my first phone interview today with SSA... She was very nice. (I was kind of nervous). I have worked enough in my career to qualify for work credits. I have medical records dating back to 1985, my first surgery was in 1996. She said they would probably date it back to one year prior to my highest wage earning year, which was 1998, which equals a nice back payment check. I can get BOTH Disability & SSI, if approved. So in other words, it is looking good so far. As was suggested to me, I e-mailed my congressman today to ask his help in pushing my application through in a timely and correct manner. According to the new laws, it IS possible to work and collect at the same time, but there is a cap on your maximum monthly wages, which I believe she said was $720.00 a month. For those of you who are on the same path as I, refer to the Social security blue book, adult listing of impairments, Chapter 11, Neurological C., 11.04 B., 11.13, 11.04 B. :0) Thanks all M.J.
