Guest guest
Hi Fred, Thanks for your tip about the lights but in Siobhan`s case she turns the lights on in her sleep, in fact she turns every light in the house on! She often falls asleep with the bedroom light on (and the radio) so I don`t see light having an affect on whether she sleepwalks or not. It must be a great worry to be sleepwalking with CMT. Did you know that there can be a `habit` aspect to it? When Siobhan was sleepwalking before she was doing it at roughly the same time each night and I was able to cure it by waking her about half an hour before her usual walking time and this disturbed her pattern enough to stop the sleepwalking for a long time. It`s only recently she`s started again but now there is no regular time so I can`t do what I did before. I think it may be stress related due to worrying about school and I am trying a herbal stress remedy. Its too early to tell if its working but the signs are good as she hasn`t walked at all for the past week. I don`t know what your situation is but I have heard that if you sleep with a partner a good trick is to push the bed against the wall and sleep on the inside whereby you would disturb your partner getting up and they can then wake you and thus break the habit. I don`t know if this would work as my experience is that a sleepwalker is in a very deep sleep and hard to wake! I also don`t know if this would be very practical with CMT! Joyce.
