Guest guest
i could be way off base but worth mentioning anyway, my transferriten was over 1200 and its supposed to be in double digits. it can be a sign of hemachromotosis which is heritary or a sign of liver disease. anyway, whatever the cause, i was told that it is not eliminated naturally and will continue to accumulate and impact in vital internal organs like the heart liver kidneys. i had to convince my hiv doc to let me have phlebotomies, 500mls out each week. its still around 300. now my liver guy thinks i am nuts but i read all the time about studies showing treatment is less likely to work if those tests are high. i am still not satisfied that it is low enough but he swears i could become anemic from treatment. but i have more than what i need and the last time i had treatment (8 months worth) i was just fine s far as anemia. ok ok i'll stop now in case i am putting you to sleep. hugs cindy
