Guest guest
Hi Pam........ I am not the one to ask about H & H levels as back in 1999 Procrit wasn't an option. Mine started out at 16.4 (high) and dropped to 6.1 (really low!) before they gave me 4 units of blood. I KNOW that things have improved greatly since then. Back then I was pretty much informed by an ignorant doctor that my side effects wouldn't be treated. (no pain meds, nausea meds, etc) I could take the Interferon/Ribaviran that might kill the virus or not. They didn't much care. Now they even design the doses based on your weight. Since I was a *mere* 115 when I started tx (I can't tell you how fat I have become! LOL) I was taking the same dosage that a 300 pound friend was. Oh the difference in a few years! I will say that from reading these lists most people DO level off with the newer medications but it does take some time. A 3 point drop doesn't seem overly *severe* to me (although I am equally certain you are feeling every bit of it!) it definitely will have an effect on your energy levels. Hang in there Pam! It can be a bumpy ride but worth it if you are undetectable! :-) Your hemoglobin and hematocrit and RBC count are all red blood cell counts. The WBC count is white blood cells. I would imagine those are dropping too? (((Pam))) Peace and Love, ·´¨¨)) -:¦:- ¸.·´.·´¨¨)) ((¸¸.·´ ..·´ -:¦:-Pam - the other one :-) -:¦:- ((¸¸.·´* " I have studied many philosophers and many cats.
