Guest guest
Hi , I have struggled with my CMT for 30 years, (and continue to struggle) I have always found October / November to be the worst time of the year. Mainly because of the debilitating pain in my legs and hands. But there also appears to be an emotional part as well. Fall is when I am occasionally overwhelmed with self pity and certainly self doubt. It is odd that fall should be a time of pain and anxiety, the cold actually helps me control the pain, so it seems this would be a good time of year for CMT'ers. Unfortunately there is no rhyme nor reason for CMT flair ups, save the fact that fall always seems to bring on the most severe for me. The only " action " is to take your medication, and do things (read etc.) to keep your mind off your pain, I try to indulge in escape literature, it helps me when I slip into a world of fantasy.. Hang in there , for this to will pass.... Guest guest
I keep the temp in my house around 70 degrees. That helps me tolerate the rainy/cold season. But I do not like going outside in it at all - hands freeze up - so I will wait for dry days to go out. This is one major reason why I stay home a lot. I suffer too much anxiety wondering when I'll have to encounter the next slippery, wet floor - it's been a lifelong worry. Melody

This recent change from summer to autumn/winter I feel is the most dramatic and I find I am struggling a bit with tiredness and cold symptoms. Does anybody else find this and what positive action can be taken to help this ? I am curious. P.
