Guest guest
My husband has CMT and that is why I am a part of this group. However, this question is about my sister-in-law who also has CMT. She has a stroke 2 weeks ago (she is only 27, but had a malformation in her brain that she was born with and it just burst). She is also pregnant with twins (Which in the possible that the vessel burst). Anyway, before this happened, she had a mild foot drop on only 1 foot and the other foot was slightly weak. Following the stroke her feet looked like my husband's feet before he had surgery. They was both turned in with all the typical symptoms. The rehab doctor told me today that the stroke couldn't possibly effect her CMT, but my experience is that " we " (people who live with this) know more than most doctors. Also, they have been giving her Dilantin since for the past two weeks. I know that is on the " don't take " list. Has anyone had any experience with either a stroke or dilantin making CMT worse? Thanks in advance for your help!
