Guest guest
Collette, What I have observed from this list and talking to ers directly is that: 1) MDA services are not free or consistent State to State in the US 2) The cost that private insurance companies have to pay out for people like us AND others is 'too much' - insurance companies want to MAKE $ NOT SPEND $. 3) Even still, SOME people cannot get health insurance because of the 'pre-exisiting' condition (even tho I know that was supposedly dropped) 4) Self-pay insurance for persons in the US is outrageously HIGH COST 5) For those on Medicare with SSDI, even Medicare is getting tough about what it helps with and doesn't. 6) Miltary and HMOs insurance also have problems. No one, CMT, or otherwise should EVER be without health care coverage, but this IS what is going on. You go Girl and lobby, lobby, lobby. I'll do what I can to help. ~ Gretchen
