Guest guest
If I didn't have coverage from a work related injury that caused my RSD. My husbands insurance wouldn't cover me either. Now that they the doc. think I have CMT, I don't know whether they will cover that part of my illness. So I've asked them not to mention the CMT. I will not have any tests to prove or disprove the CMT. This is the only alternative I have. Both the CMT and RSD are so similar that the treatments at this time are basically the same. Even though Our insurance is not an HMO, it will not cover a preexistence problem. So no more tests just treatments for RSD. Inless they can assure me that any treatments for the CMT are covered. This may be wrong but we all do what we have to for treatments. I have had RSD now for 15 years I take oxycontin and anaprox for the pain and elavil for depression and sleep. Which doesn't seem to help much with the sleep aspect of this illness. The only thing that seems to work along with the oxycontin is to keep myself as busy as possible. I don't work outside of the home but do many craft things I crochet and quilt and will continue as long as my hands let me it helps keep my mind away form pain. I also work with wood my Husband helps convert things so that I can do them sitting down he is a very resourceful man. He didn't come into my life until I was diagnosed it was hard to realize someone would take on a woman that he knew would be in a wheelchair in a few years but that didn't seem to bother him in the least. I wish that all of you could find a man or woman that can love you inspite of your disabilities. They are out there and they are the best support system that any of us could ever need I thank God for Fred everyday of my life and would be the first one to let go if I ever get to be more of a burden then he can handle. So don't any of you give up on men, women or any treatments that may give you relief and Love. Stout

" I am wondering if you have ever considered Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatments for your RSD? http://www.angelfire.com/tx3/Linkspagehtml/RSDinFrames.html Anyone interested in RSD will find a treasure box of information at this site.
