Guest guest
I agree, Melinda. I looked into the WW Core Plan because it sounded like a great way to lose weight without counting points. I decided not to do WW because I don't have a lot to lose and it is expensive. I do, however, try to follow the philosophy of eating whole foods. I have decided to start a daily posting on what I ate and how I exercised each day. It keeps me in check. It also means- no more eating after I post (which will probably be late anyway). Guest guest
You know what, Nina? If I were like you and didn't have too much to lose, I would do entirely NT, too. That's really what I'm doing. I'm just using the WW Core principles along with it, since it helps me to select better foods. The little bit of structure helps me. I have a considerable amount to lose - about 50 lbs, so I'm trucking along with both. Let's keep each other encouraged, ok? Melinda ) Re: Hi! I agree, Melinda. Guest guest
Oh, Jenni, I'm so sorry to hear about your broken rib. Rex, my 10 yo, kicked me in the ribs in utero when I was 7 months along and it broke my rib. Talk about sore for awhile! The heating pad at least made me feel better. I'm saying a prayer right now that you'll heal quickly. Melinda Re: Hi! Of course Jenni! Howdo you do it?? If you don't mind sharing. Guest guest
I couldn't believe it either, . I knew when it happened. I was on my way to a meeting, and detoured to my doctor's office when I started having trouble breathing without hurting. He then told me what the problem was. I felt so much better when he dropped!!! He's always been a strong little fella, but the one of my kids with the typically best disposition! Isn't that funny? Melinda ) Re: Hi! Guest guest
Hi Molly: Welcome to the Group. You've definitely come to the right place... there are many knowledgeable people here. Just keep asking questions and somebody will answer them. As far as cardio goes... does your gym have an UBE (Upper-body Exerciser)? It is basically a stationary bike for your arms. It'll look something like this: http://www.beyondmoseying.com/hudson-upper-body-ergometer-ube2000.html Or some of them have chairs that you sit in like a recumbent bike. In general, always start with a very small amount of exercise, like walking for 5 minutes, and see how that goes. If you tolerate it alright, try 6 minutes next time, then 7 or 8. It may sound silly to start so slowly, but you need to allow your body time to make itself stronger. It may be frustrating to hold yourself back from doing more, but you will be glad you did. Good luck, Doug > > I wish I'd found you guys months ago! My knee pain started when I > lost 50 pounds last year. Guest guest
Thanks Doug! I started slow at P.T., and am up to 20 minutes total of comfortable cardio. Usually I start with 5 min. on a recumbent bike, then 5 min. on the elliptical followed by another 10 on the recumbent, but I'm trying to do those last 10 on the treadmill to change things up a bit. It IS frustrating to start so slow, but I figure 20 min. of " light " cardio (not light to me!!) is better than sitting on the couch! My gym is pretty limited, just the bikes, treadmills, ellipticals and a rower, but it is the only gym in town, and I'm awfully grateful for it; otherwise I'd have to drive an hour to the nearest gym, which would probably murder my motivation! I'm so thankful to find such nice and knowledgable folks!
Guest guest
Mike, Gee, is this what I haave to look forward to? Being a Pagan I have sworn to not send harm any groups way. lol By the way, what is tx SAM mike <hope_chem_survive@...> wrote: , Thanks, Doing Excellent.... Every day of TX better than the day before. Am liking the TX so well now I think I will just stay on it permenently as a health tonic. Can't decide which I like the best Riba or INF. They both have a charm all their own but when combined are somehow even more delightful in combination. Which was your Fav? Am thinking of suggestion to Rumsfield we issue riba to the troops as an aggression booster. It will turn those flabbly weak little high school boys into lean-mean evil nuts just like it did to me these last few months. That's what we need are more drug crazed psycopaths over there all jacked up on " irritability/homocidal " riba with no urge for food or sex but just loaded with rage and the spirit of the bayonet and a compulsion to kill, kill, kill. Give me a church group properly dosed on riba and I'll kick butt going head to head with any unit you name not on chemo. Dose em up a bit till they start to foam a little a the mouth and they are ready to go... I swear my antiviral tea I make is getting me high. Feel giddy as can be since I started knocking back the tea today. No caffine, no sugar just olive leaf, reishi mushroom, dandilion root, and licorice root and raw grated giger. I know the reishi mushrooms are like natural speed but think there may be some other things as well too. The stuff is alkaline as can be and maybe that's part of it too. Between that and the new cave man diet my ph is supposed to normalize if it was in fact already too alkaline. Don't know how to describe it except a mild buzz and general feeling of well being. Maybe the ginger wacks me out too, don't know but it's my only buzz at all now since I even gave up the coffee. Found some med research on disinfectans which explained how silver kills bacteria/virus/fungus. May try some but it is so expensive and everything I do now is costing a fortune. Mike, you will know how it is , the riba is like haveing a full termite infestation of the mind ,leaves alot of nice looking stuff but hollow ,just a little push here or their and the whole mess caves in , why hell im still fumagating with hydrogen cyanide gas ,after the termites are gone i can start to rebuild but until its a bad seen ,snafu ,

Guest guest
That was the first check. Cheap insurance. lol You are lucky. When I go into it again, it will be with a great deal more knowledge than the first time. I had to divoprce my husband in order to qualify for the meds through Scherring Plough!! Guest guest
Boy, that reminds me of being on treatment and some of the tricks they tried on me. My insurance wouldn't let me re-order until the last week of the shots, so I was always anxious. However, the pharmacy I used were WONDERFUL and a couple of times called me at home and stayed open after closing hours to make sure I got my meds. Once when I went to take care of my mother in Idaho (her last illness with cancer, she was on hospice, no stress there!) I forgot my needles, so had to go buy a box of 30 so I could use 2. And traveling with them was too fun, using the little cooler. this was the PegIntron that you had to take 1 ml of sterile water and shoot it into the little bottle of powedered interferon, swish it GENTLY back and forth or it would really cause a reaction, and break out another needle to give the shot with. I always saved my bottles with the tiny amount in the bottom, just in case my meds didn't come in time, and I had a whole vegetable bin in my fridge full of them. But they did come in handy once when the meds were late. I had to suction about 15 bottles to get 1 ml of interferon, and I don't know if it was any good, some of it was months old, so I took the regular shot when I finally got it 4 days later. Just a few of the adventures of the mushy-minded on delerious drugs. We should write a book, huh? Guest guest
They should have a Sharps container at your MD's office. Or pharmacies sometimes have them, and hospitals always do. That's where the needles need to go. . .
