you could use a plastic tube a bit wider than the batteries, put battery inside

then stuff sponges into the ends. Put one rubber band around lengthwise to hold

it all in?

The thing is, my friend has already made the rods using cable ties so I'm just

trying to find out if the whole thing will still work with the ties attached..??

if it makes contact with the moist sponges it should provide current.
