Guest guest
You don't need to remove sponges or do anything special. The batteries will stay charged just fine so long as the two sponges don't touch or touch anything conductive both at the same time. You can stand the rods on end on a stainless steel sink but nothing will happen since it takes a path between both sponges to drain the current. They will stay charged unless placed on something conductive like a stainless steel sink, a wet floor or table, or a sheet of aluminum foil, etc. You can store them easily by putting into plastic bags (one bag for each rod) and leave the bags open at the top to breathe. They should stay reasonably fresh that way. No need to clean them too often. To clean just remove the sponges from under the rubber bands, soak sponges in hot soapy water, rinse and squeeze out. Ready again. Real simple. Enjoy! bG
