Root canals as a source of infection

I have been reading a couple of articles on the dangers of infected root

canals. 75% are said to contain infection.

Here is a good link:

I have posted previously on my loose back tooth. The baby gozilla did

work a bit in controlling the tenderness but of course it has not cured

any physical damage. One of the problems using the bg is that it is very

uncomfortable applying the electrodes in the mouth. A lot of saliva is

automatically produced and drips out of the mouth whilst the electrodes

are held in place by the fingers. I suspect that the saliva also

increases the amps being applied across the gum. For mouth use it would

be really advantageous if there was some form of clamping device to

straddle the tooth and apply the electrodes either side. I envisage some

form of spring loaded clamp that is bitten up in order to keep it in place.

Can anyone think of a normally available item that could be easily

modified for this purpose?
