Guest guest
I have just read a lot of information on the alpha-stim web site - it seems to me that the product offered there is a commercial reproduction of the Apprentice Godzilla with a few more whistles and bells and pricey accessories - has anyone bought one of these and if so how do they compare with the AG? - I made both the AG and paddles for an extremely small outlay compared to the $895 they ask for - it seems a lot of people could have saved themselves a lot of money had they been fortunate enough to know of the existence of this group, BMJ. Guest guest
Alpha-Stim is a little different from our straight DC devices. A-S does use low voltage and current, but it also uses frequencies (the electrode polarity changes from positive to negative at various rates) as ours did when we first started experimenting. Bob found that it was not necessary, nor advantageous to change polarity more frequently than about every 5 to 10 minutes. This can be done manually, so there is no need for complicated electronics. In the File section of the group site there is a comparison of many different kinds of electronic devices, which you will find interesting and educational. Guest guest
this is a bit off topic. bg..the device by beck is familiar to me and I've used it here and there for a mild effect on the brain. it's not a good device for germs, though it might have certain anti=depressant effects temporarily, at least it did for me. it isn't something to count on, imho. the alpha-stim appears to be a combination device, but if it's like $900 it's probably overpriced. aside from whatever kind of microcurrent design is used for pain relief, the psych effects achieved with the earlobe clips are from a CES circuit. this is based on the black box designed by meg patterson to stimulate endorphin production in the brain. she used it to cure some folk like clapton, townshend, richards of heroin addiction. bob beck picked up on the idea and (apparently along with sota instruments?)came up with a version called the brain tuner. sota currently sells one. a cheaper version ($95AU) from another company is on ebay regularly...don't know how similar it is to the sota design. > Re: Alpha-stim 100 > > > > Question...
