reversing polarity means you exchange places with the pads. If one was

on the right, the other on the left, you trade em, in other words. in

general you can experiment placing one on the painful area the other

almost anywhere else, but avoid the eyes and brain as much as

possible. Just do not apply to broken skin where there's blood, as

blood is very highly conductive and will be too much power into the

body that way. As long as skin is unbroken, it can be red or swollen

that's probably ok.

Ellen,

When you hold the sponges on your neck, or elsewhere, it is a good idea to hold

them with rubber gloves or with your hands in plastic bags, so the current will

go from one side of the neck to the other, through the infected or inflamed

area, and not partially from hand to hand.

Also, if you are using a 6 volt battery, or 4 AA batteries, and feel like you

need to reduce the current for comfort sake, you can add a short piece of wet

cloth between the battery and the wire. The length of the wet cloth will adjust

the current. The longer the less current, and vice versa.

To make the connection easier, and faster to connect you can go to Radio Shack,

or any electronics shop and get some small " alligator clips " . They are cheap and

easy to attach to the wire. They do not have to be soldered. Just twist them

tightly, or some have screws.
