Guest guest
Many years ago I read a book called " Tom Swift and His Giant Magnet " . I can't remember the story line anymore. The title sticks with me because of the relationship between the boy and his machine. Much later in life I met a woman who named her car " Buttercup " . Somehow she seemed convinced the car was partly alive. She explained to me that Buttercup had not been feeling well lately but had improved a lot after a visit to the shop. The mechanic explained that Buttercup had gotten rust and chips in her throat and was choking. He was able to make her feel much better and now she is happy and can breath freely again. The woman kept this car a long time and she cared for it as a relationship with love, communication, understanding. She was so devoted and stayed so closely in touch with the car's " behavior " that she learned a lot about the car. It was certainly in the best shape possible for its age. She viewed the workings of the car in human terms observing it only metaphorically, but observe it she did. And it worked. She and Buttercup saw much of the world together and had many adventures. Our " godzilla " devices are a bit like Buttercup or the Giant Magnet of Tom Swift. A friend of mine just loves her " godzilla sinus mask " . It's strange to hear words like love showered on a device, but beware, it can happen to you, too. And of course, understood any way you like, it's sure to bring you adventures. bG
