Guest guest
I have only had my CI for almost 9 months. I have the Clarion Slim battery and it lasted me 10-11 hours per day. That's pretty good but the EL battery which will be released around in June will last around 24 hours or so. I have tried that and was very pleased with the results. Debbie B. Guest guest
That's great news on the battery life Deb.. Too bad all the companies couldn't come up with a " lifetime " battery and save us all the misery of " forgetting " occasionally to take extra batteries along with us.. I've been pretty lucky on that one so far because on the few occasions I did forget to pack extras one of my implanted family members has been with me.. Of course I could have gone to the store and bought a pack to get me by.. but why do that when I can swap for free..LOL.. Having a family full of implant users does have it's advantages. <G> Hugs Silly MI In , Rabbitslover@a... wrote: > I have only had my CI for almost 9 months. Guest guest
OK.. I can only see this going in as several polls but let me see what I can do. It's a good idea but will take some thought to enter it right. Alice > > Alice, how about another poll? Average length of ci-wearing day, battery brand, and battery life?? I think it would be very interesting and informative for all of us. > ...muriel in fort worth >
Guest guest
Why does the thickness of the skin under the magnet affect battery life? Thanks. implanted Dec13/04 hookup Feb 1/
Guest guest
The thicker the skin, the more power is required to push the signal thru to the internal component. *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* Me no here. Guest guest
The thickness of your skin flap affects battery life because it is one of the factors that determines how much power is needed to get those electrical impulses across your skin. Thicker skin means you need more power. Guest guest
That's interesting. I'll print this off and show it to the audi at next mapping for her comments. Unfortunaltly batteries are not covered by any reimbursement scheme in NZ so they cost me. It's only $1.50 per day (batts are about $1 each) and that doesn't bother me that much, but longer life would be nice. Guest guest
With fresh batteries it should last at least a month or two if used an hour a day...possibly a lot longer bG > > How long does the battery last. Guest guest
They could last a year or even two. This uses VERY little electricity.bg > > > > How long does the battery last. Guest guest
Do you have a way of taking a picture and submitting it so we can see exactly what you have done? Guest guest
try them in something else, like a flashlight, etc. If they work there, they work here. bG > > How do you know when they are dead or not any good anymore > > > > Thanks Elllen > > > >
