Guest guest
I used to enjoy this group a lot - but since it has been changed to allow loooooooong posts it's just not fun anymore. But I really like the subject material so I'm wondering how many others have been lost from the flock because of this change. Here's a link to a newsgroup that has nearly the same configuration but is infinately easier to navigate since one can go from one msg to another merely by clicking the appropriate header. Very easy. PortaBote/ Hope this helps. Ric Stoll
Guest guest
I like the group as it is. It's now covering a wider subject field, so more posts, and takes longer to read through, but it would surely help bG if everyone trims their posts, anyway. I do like having the posts come in and put themselves in my " Microelectricity " file. I have a subfile to that called " bGKeep " ; the theory is that the must-keeps go in that and other stuff can be deleted. In practice, most posts stay there anyway; they are too precious to delete. I don't have to be on line to read my posts; I can do it any time. I find that if I have to go to a site to read and click and navigate - I just don't do it after a time or two. As it is, I can if I want click on the subject header and have all the posts on a particular thread next to each other, and just follow the subject through and, if I want, conveniently transfer them to a document or to a single email to send to my friends. Similarly, if I want to follow someone's progress, I can click on the name header and read the posts of that person one after the other. I really appreciate people posting their results. I'm not well organised yet; I have materials ready to go, and DH has promised to have a go at bringing my ideas into fruition - it's a start, sort of. But I have my trusty crocodile clips and tissues and spray and 6v battery. It's really exciting to keep up to date with developments. Thanks, everyone.
