Guest guest
I never got autoimmune testing because I was guided not to make myself uninsurable. Autoimmune tests are sometimes negative and sometimes positive with no effect on treatment. Remember that I has the advantage of treating over 300 patients at this point so I knew what tests were important. . ----- Original Message ----- From: <cjheer@...> < > Sent: Monday, July 30, 2001 12:09 PM Subject: Dr Kolb one more thing > I am going to quote you here so that I am not misquoting you, in your > post you said ...and I will quote here > > I have not had > any testing which could show an autoimmune problem but I do recommend > Dr. > Shanklin's silicone antibody test if my patients wish to be > reimplanted with > saline if they had evidence of autoimmune disease. > > End of your quote. > > I am wondering, and no I am not trying to start an argument or attack > you please understand this all I am trying to do is to understand > what your situation was if that is ok? > > you state above that you have not had any autoimmune testing. Guest guest
I find this statement pretty ridiculous, esp as an MD if you are sick you don't get a test to find out if you are suffering from autoimmune disease because of insurance. I have been tested many many times during my illness and still have insurance so this again, seems to not make a whole lot of sense. Is this what you advice your patients? not to get tested for autoimmune diseases? Well you are the expert here and you make it very clear from your posts that the rest of us uneducated people are not in you advantage of having treated 300 patients with auto immune disease. Again I question how you could put implants in your body if you were even half as sick as me or many of the ladies on this site. Maybe none of them wish to speak up but I know for a fact that many implant ill women question your motives here.I suppose you will again attack me with one of your know it all posts. How on earth do you know if someone has an autoimmune disease if you do not test them? How can you reimplant women who might be ill with lupus or other awful diseases? Please try to explain this with a post that is longer than your usual brief one r two line responses and quit being so defensive, I am no more attacking you than you are me. I am having trouble swallowing advice from a Dr who was so ill from implants that she went and replaced them and never even checked to see if she had lupus or another autoimmune disease. You also state you knew what tests were important, well my goodness that would be a nice thing to share here with us all since we are still sick unlike you.
