We're just a little Group. But, this isn't necessarily bad.

Consider the other things that people look to for Progress:

Free market

1. Missed Penicillin, only adopted by accident 10 years after

discovery

2. Missed (this) electric germkiller, there's nothing to sell

3. XRAY machine, Edison just gave it away

4. Consistently ignores jurisprudence, ethics, even Jesus on his

Birthday.

Education

1. Sells skepticism as the fundamental mind of education

2. Truth by peer pressure

3. Verbal Argument over Investigation

Law

1. Political mood of the times

2. Contradictions inherent in best of laws

Govt

1. Developed real threat of physical destruction of whole planet to

act as " deterrent "

2. Citizenship by the unqualified

3. Disinterest in facts

4. Subservience to opinion polls of the uninformed

Philanthropy

1. Starts with good impulse, winds up perpetuating status quo

2. Goes out of date as new needs arise

The trades and professions

1. Builders still refuse to provide insulated homes that requires no

heating plants, even though the designs are 30 years old and work

fine at a cost of only 3000 bucks per home, they refuse to do it.

Loss of energy.

2. Highways and cars only safer due to govt efforts after millions of

deaths.

3. Engineers and scientists work for the highest bidder, not the best

projects. Nuclear fission, germ warfare, Monorail, etc.

4. Take cues from other professions, docs follow lawyers, govt

regulators follow drug companies, etc.
